REFEREE – JUDGING - SEMINAR  (All apart from FULL CONTACT)

To all Referees / Judges

All WAKO Refereeing / Judging qualifications from June 2008 must be renewed every TWO years,

I have attached a letter with all the names of referees / judges whose qualification/s have run out,

Please try to attend the next seminar so that you are qualified to referee / judge at future WAKO Tournaments.

Please Note

Referee - Judges Seminar times have changed to 12. 30pm - 4. 30pm

I will be splitting the Seminar up into Two Parts:

PART ONE: 12. 30pm – 4.30pm

All New participants will be talked through and explained the New WAKO Rules for Semi – Light Contact,

They will do a written exam on WAKO Rules (Semi – Light Contact)

Learn how to check fighter’s equipment – clothing, jewelry,

Do Practical Refereeing on a full sized 8 x 8 meters fighting area using World top class fighters,

Learn the new hand signs and voice commands for Semi - light contact,

Also learn how to use the new Electronic score boards that WAKO are using at all their tournaments.

PART TWO: - REFRESHER COURSE 2. 00pm – 4. 30pm

All Referees - Judges who are doing a Refresher course will quickly run through the New WAKO Rules and most important be going through a lot of practical work Refereeing - Judging WAKO World top class fighters Doing scenarios on how to cope with certain incidents that do and have happened that I have seen in the passed at European and World Level Tournaments.

Discuss about what happens with fighters who are injured but still wants to fight on (Powers of Medics)

Go through the New Area - Exit warnings,

Learn to use New WAKO Hand Signals,

Learn how to use the new Electronic score boards that WAKO are using at all their tournaments.

How to check fighter’s equipment – clothing, and to check for jewelry,

Find out what the Duties of a Center referee / Observer are.

This will be a very in-depth Seminar making sure that everyone who does it will be more informed on how to Referee - Judge at top WAKO tournaments.

All New Referees / Judges will receive a WAKO Shirt, Tie, Certificate, and the new WAKO Official

Referees /Judges Card.

Referees / Judges doing the refresher course will receive a Certificate,
