WAKO Rules
This page will shortly provide a reference tool for all fighters, coaches and promoters and more importantly officials who need to have sight of the latest edition of the rules.
It will offer rules for all full contact disciplines.
Please bare with us whilst it is generated in full.
Thank you!
Rules are also available at www.wakoprogb.co.uk
Please note: WAKO GB stipulate that a Pro-Am can enter the WAKO
British Amateur championships as long as they have not exceeded the 4 fight limit allowed under WAKO rules. WAKO GB do not offer, nor recognise titles under Pro-Am and only see this as an official stepping stone between amateur and professional status.
Anyone fighting as a Pro-Am and attaining a professional title whilst doing this automatically becomes a professional under WAKO rules. Thus stopping them from entering the WAKO GB British Championships.
1. Anyone winning a British title and found to be a professional will automatically be stripped of the title. WAKO GB do pre check all entrants to the best of their knowledge.
2. Cadet entrants will be required to show proof of age and a parents consent letter, which allows them to enter the WAKO British Championships.
3. Full Contact at the British Championships is compulsory PRE PAY and PRE ENTER.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
4. All fighters will have read and understood the WAKO Rules and be in possession of full safety equipment including hand wraps and long kickboxing tousers.
5. Fighters can only enter 1 Full Contact category and no other discipline on the same day.
6. Only two cornermen will be allowed and these must remain at canvas level during bouts.
7. WAKO welcome WADA random drug testing.
8. No fighters allowed to enter the WAKO British if over the age of 45 years old.
9. A fighter can receive warnings or minus points should the corner infringe the rules or be abusive.
All fighters should carry their own licence/insurance.
All fighters enter the competition at their own risk and will not hold WAKO or its executives responsible for any injury received whilst competing.
Minimum age for full contact is 16 years old at time of competing. Cadets are aged from 16 years up to and including 18 years old.
No fighter is allowed to enter Full Contact and Light Continuous on the 16th February 2008.
Although WAKO GB takes every care in pre checking FULL CONTACT fighters status it has to rely on available records and internet searches plus the honesty of each and every fighter and therefore is not liable at anytime for incorrect records. Anyone found trying to enter the competition under false pretences could render themselves and their club/camp banned from any further competition.
